มหาวิทยาลัย Portsmouth มีความเป็นเลิศทางด้านผลงานวิจัยในระดับนานาชาติ โดยผลงานวิจัยของ School of Biomedical and Biomolecular Science ได้ถูกจัดอันดับไว้ระดับ 3 และ 4 (RAE 2008) และในสาขา Applied Mathematics ผลงานวิจัยกว่า 75% ได้ RAE 4+3 ซึ่งถือว่าเป็นระดับคะแนนที่ดีที่สุดของมหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศอังกฤษทางด้านสาขานี้ และในปี 2015 นี้ มหาวิทยาลัยได้รับการจัดอันดับให้เป็น 1 ใน 10 Modern Universities ของประเทศอังกฤษอีกด้วย

International Foundation Programmes @ University of Portsmouth
โปรแกรม International Foundation ที่ University of Portsmouth เป็นหลักสูตรสำหรับนักศึกษาต่างชาติ รวมถึงนักศึกษาไทยที่ต้องการเรียนต่อระดับปริญญาตรีที่ประเทศอังกฤษ เนื่องจากการศึกษาระดับมัธยมศึกษาของประเทศไทยใช้เวลาเรียนน้อยกว่าประเทศ อังกฤษ 1 ปี นักศึกษาไทยจึงถูกกำหนดให้ต้องเรียนหลักสูตร Foundation 1 ปีก่อนเพื่อปรับความรู้ ทั้งนี้ไม่ได้ทำให้เสียเวลาเรียนแต่อย่างใด เพราะมหาวิทยาลัยของอังกฤษใช้เวลาเรียนในระดับปริญญาตรีเพียง 3 ปีเท่านั้น

- สำหรับนักเรียนที่ได้ IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in all subskills)
- ในกรณีที่คะแนนภาษาอังกฤษไม่ถึง สามารถไปเรียนคอร์สภาษาก่อนได้ ติดต่อเจ้าหน้าที่ EFL เพื่อขอข้อมูลเพิ่มเติม
